St. Petersburg SKA striker Matvey Michkov became the second in the ranking of European players ahead of the National Hockey League (NHL) draft. This was reported on the website of the organization.
The first place was taken by Leo Carlson from Sweden, and the third place was taken by Slovak Dalibor Dvorsky. Two more Russians entered the top 10 – Daniil But from Lokomotiv Yaroslavl and Mikhail Gulyaev from Avangard Omsk. They are in ninth and tenth positions, respectively.
18-year-old Michkov played for Sochi on loan in the 2022/2023 season. In total, he played 27 games for the team in the regular season of the Continental Hockey League. In them, the forward scored 9 goals and gave 11 assists.
The NHL Draft will take place in Nashville on June 28 and 29. At the annual event, league clubs secure the rights to young hockey players aged 18 to 21.
