“The Tour de France is something very special. The feeling I had at the top of the podium was fantastic. My goal is to go for more victories,” said Vingegaard, whose main rival will once again be Tadej Pogacarwho, for now, has won the first duel of the year between the two, in Paris-Nice.

Jumbo-Visma director Richard Pluge has said that Vingegaard was “a diamond in the rough” when he signed in 2019, and that he is now an “essential” rider if we are to maintain our position at the top.

Vingeegard’s renewal comes at a time when Dutch supermarket chain Jumbo, which is the team’s main sponsor, is considering canceling his contract in 2024.
