Hertha Berlin, bottom of the Bundesliga, dismisses coach and already defines replacement

The Hertha Berlin, lantern of the Bundesliga after the 5-2 defeat in Gelsenkirchen to Schalke on Friday, he sacked his coach Sandro Schwarz this Sunday, to replace him with Pal Dardai, with six rounds to go in the championship.

With 28 games played, the team from the capital has 22 points and is two points behind Schalke (penultimate) and Stuttgart (16th and in the play-off position). The first team in position to stay in the first division, Bochum, has 26 points before playing this Sunday away from home against Union Berlin.

The mission to save the club from falling fell to Pal Dardai, former coach of the Hungary national team, who had led Hertha between February 2015 and June 2019, and then between January and November 2021.

Hertha’s last win dates back to February 25 against Augsburg. In 2023, the Berliners have already lost eight times, accumulating two draws and two victories.

This is the ninth coach fired this Bundesliga season, out of eight clubs, since Stuttgart sacked Pellegrino Matarazzo in mid-October 2022 and then Bruno Labbadia in early April.
