This Thursday, the Peruvian Football Federation announced that the new coach of the women’s national team will be Brazilian Emily Lima. With passages through Brazil, Santos e São Paulothe coach commanded Ecuador before taking over in Peru.
“Women’s football is my life and the entire technical team that is walking with me, we arrived with a lot of desire to work. We have to manage to change the mentality of the players, but also of the people who will work close to us. Working together, we will achieve our objectives and, little by little, change women’s football,” said Emily.

After ending her playing career, Emily Lima studied in Spain to develop women’s football projects in Brazil. Her first team as a coach was Juventus, from Mooca, and later she went through São Caetano, São José, São Paulo and Santos.
In 2016, the coach took over the Brazilian national team and became the first woman to hold the position in Brazil. The following year, Emily Lima led the country to win the International Selection Tournament.
Since 2019, Emily has been coaching the Ecuador national team and also commanded the country’s youth categories, with a project to develop women’s sport.

“We are pleased to bring a professional of great prestige in world women’s football, she has already coached Brazil and Ecuador. We are sure that she will do a job with the players that will leave a mark. The Federation is making a very important commitment in this case”, says the president of the Peruvian Federation, Agustín Lozano.
For “La Bicolor”, Emily Lima will also establish guidelines and work methodologies in the Under-17 and Under-20 categories.
