Mikel Nieve joins the coaching staff of Kern Pharma

Four months after his retirement as a professional cyclist, Mikel Snow It has been Incorporated to the coaching staff of the Kern Pharma team, which seeks, in this way, to reinforce its performance sections and take a step forward as a structure. Kern Pharma has indicated this, this Wednesday, in a note, in which it states that the ex-cyclist is joining his new role “with great enthusiasm and desire”: “My new role at Kern Pharma seems interesting to me, especially because We share ideas. It’s a job that I am quite attracted to”, points out Nieve, who sees it as important to be able to transmit the values of “work, perseverance, trying to improve every day and giving the best you have. In this team I see that they have enthusiasm and desire to progress. My aim will be to help them get the most out of it”, he added.
The new coach will bring his valuable and extensive experience to the training, and will try to be “the link between the areas of Performance, Sports Management and cyclists”, at the same time that he will act as sports director: “I will seek to understand the boys, know how they are, what they feel and what they require from the directors. The part of preparing for a career and directing also motivates me”.
During his 15 seasons in the elite, Nieve achieved important victories, among others in the Giro d’Italia and the Vuelta a España; he participated in 22 grand tours, and stood out in high-level squads, such as Euskaltel-Euskadi, Sky, BikeExchange or Caja Rural.
In the opinion of Juanjo Oroz, general manager of Kern PharmaNieve will bring the criteria and experience necessary to the team to take a step forward: “He will be in the day-to-day life of the riders, he will focus on their evolution and that of the team. He comes to add and unite”, he highlighted.
