Ian Nepomniachtchi draws with Ding Liren in the third game of the match for the world title
Russian grandmaster Ian Nepomniachtchi played a draw with China’s Ding Liren in the third game of the match for the world chess title. This is reported by the correspondent of “Lenta.ru”.
32-year-old Nepomniachtchi, for whom this is the second attempt to win the world chess crown, played with white pieces. The opponents agreed to a draw on the 30th move. After the third installment, the Russian leads with a score of 2:1.
The fourth batch will take place on April 13. All meetings are hosted by Astana. The winner of the competition will be the chess player who first scores 7.5 points.
The current world champion is Norwegian Magnus Carlsen, who previously refused to defend the title, citing a lack of motivation. In December 2021, he beat Nepomniachtchi 7.5:3.5.
