Coach Shane McGuigan called Dubois one of the most dangerous heavyweight punchers
Shane McGuigan, trainer of British boxer Daniel Dubois, called the weaknesses of the Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk before the upcoming fight of the athletes. His words are quoted by the Boxing UK YouTube channel.
“He is smaller than Daniel. I know people may disagree, but Daniel is one of the most dangerous punchers in the heavyweight division. I believe that he is the most dangerous, ”McGuigan said, adding that Usyk also got older since the last time he entered the ring. At the same time, the specialist called the Ukrainian a phenomenal boxer.
On April 3, the World Boxing Association (WBA) Championship Fighting Committee ordered Usyk to fight Dubois after the failure of the fight with British Tyson Fury. Negotiations with Fury have been going on since the fall of 2022, but the boxers could not agree on the distribution of fees.
Usyk has 20 wins in 20 fights. He holds the World Boxing Organization (WBO), International Boxing Federation (IBF), International Boxing Organization (IBO) and WBA Super heavyweight championship belts. The 25-year-old Dubois has 19 wins and one loss.
