In the first game of this phase, Argentina beat Chile with a score of 2-0. Araucanian defender Víctor Campos scored against (42 minutes) and Gaucho creative midfielder Claudio Echeverri sealed the win (45+2 minutes).
In the second game, Brazil beat Venezuela in doubles (2-1) at the Atahualpa Olympics. The goals for the auriverde were the work of defenders Da Mata (6 min) and Dudú (33 min).
