The Ecuadorian U-17 team begins its journey in search of the title of the South American championship and a ticket to the world championship of the category. The final hexagonal of the competition is played in Quito, and Paraguay is the first opponent of Tri.

Ecuador arrives with low midfielder Kendry Páezejected in the last term of Group A, which forces the coach Diego Martínez to look for alternatives so as not to resent the work of the team and achieve a height advantage against Albirroja, second placed in Group A.
