Strikers Karim Benzema and Vinícius Júnior have been making the difference for the Real Madrid in the last matches. Before the clash against Chelsea, defender Alaba praised the combination between the Frenchman and the Brazilian during a press conference this Tuesday.
“They’re a great duo, you can see that in every training session and every game. How well they play together on the field. It’s lucky to have them. Also, Karim is a great leader and helps the younger players like Vini,” he said.
The two together have accounted for 46 of Real’s goals this season, with 25 for Benzema and 21 for Vini. At Champions Leaguethe Brazilian winger is the one who has been more decisive, with six balls in the net so far.

Alaba also commented on the continuity of coach Carlo Ancelotti in charge of the team. The Austrian defended the work of the Italian, who is being speculated as the future coach of the Brazilian national team and has his future in the Madrid team uncertain.
“He is a great coach, he has shown many times how good he is. He knows how to succeed. We are very happy to have him and we would like him to continue,” he said.
Usually acting on the left side of the defense, Alaba should be used as a defender in this Wednesday’s duel against Chelsea, for the Champions League. The match, valid for the first leg of the quarterfinals, will take place at the Santiago Bernabéu, at 4 pm (Brasília time).
