Barcelona draw with Girona, but extend their advantage over Real Madrid in Espanyol

This Monday, the Barcelona drew 0-0 with Girona, in a match valid for the 28th round of the spanish leaguehappened at Camp Nou.

Even with equality on the scoreboard, the hosts, who reached 72 points, increased to 13 the advantage over the Real Madridsecond place, who lost in the round. On the other hand, Girona reached 35 points, but remained in 11th place in La Liga.

The two teams return to the field on Sunday, for the 29th round of the Spanish Championship. At 9am (Brasília time), Girona will face Elche, at Estadi Montilivi. A little later, at 11:15 am, Barça face Getafe at the Alfonso Pérez Stadium.

The game

In the first half, Barcelona had the best chances to score. Just four minutes in, Ansu Fati stole the ball, after an error by the Girona defender, and found Robert Lewandowski, the Espanyol’s top scorer, with 17 goals scored, who, already inside the area, kicked over the goal. Two minutes later, the Pole received a cross in the small area, but again sent it out.

At eight, Santiago Bueno made a poor return to Gazzaniga, the Girona goalkeeper, and the only reason he didn’t score an own goal was because the archer managed to prevent the ball from going into the goal.

At 35 minutes, the Brazilian Raphinha received Ansu Fati in the area and kicked to Gazzaniga’s defense, sending it to a corner.
