Coach Stanislav Cherchesov announced the extension of the contract with Ferencváros for one season
The head coach of the Hungarian “Ferencváros” Stanislav Cherchesov announced the extension of the contract with the club. It is reported by “Sport-Express”.
According to the specialist, the club has activated the option to extend the agreement for another year, until the summer of 2024. “Now we need to do everything to successfully complete the Hungarian Championship, and at the end of the tournament we will again discuss with the management the issue of strengthening the squad before the new season,” Cherchesov added.
Cherchesov signed a contract with Ferencváros on December 20, 2021. Under his leadership, the club became the champion of Hungary, and also won the Hungarian Cup. This season, his team leads the national championship with a margin of six points.
Since 2016, Cherchesov has been the head coach of the Russian national team. Together with him, the team reached the quarterfinals of the home world championship. The coach left the post after an unsuccessful performance at the 2021 European Championships.
