Lille takes the lead, but concedes the tie to Monaco in the French Championship

With two goals in the first ten minutes of the game, Lille looked ready to beat Monaco this Friday and end the streak of four games without a win in Ligue 1. But the home team showed strength and managed a 2-2 draw. 2 at the Stade Louis II.

The result takes Monaco to 19 points, in seventh place. Lille has 17 points and occupies 12th place.

Lille needed just four minutes to open the scoreboard with Jonathan David converting from a penalty kick. Monaco felt the blow and couldn’t react, taking Jonathan David’s second four minutes later. The home team controlled the ball more and managed to reduce their loss in the 40th minute, with Krépin Diatta.

Monaco returned for the second stage decided to tie and try to turn it around. After more than ten shots to goal by Grbic, Wissam Ben Yedder managed to beat the opposing goalkeeper and tied the game in the 37th minute.

For the 15th round of the French Championship, Lille host Nantes at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy next Saturday, at 1 pm (GMT). Monaco hosts Strasbourg next Sunday at 11 am. The match will be held at the Stade Louis II.
