Looking for a centre-forward, Barcelona would be eyeing a former Palmeirense

Barcelona are looking for a center forward to make up for the absence of Aguero, who may have his career interrupted due to heart problems. According to the Sports world, one of the strikers that is in the sights of the club is the Brazilian Arthur Cabral, recently summoned by Tite in the Brazilian national team.

Arthur was bought by Palmeiras, from Ceará, in 2018. Without many opportunities in Verdão, the striker was loaned to Basel, from Switzerland, and after good performances he was permanently hired by the Swiss team for 4.4 million euros (at the time , about R$26 million).

The player caught the attention of Deco, who works for Barça recruiting young players in Brazil and Portugal. Arthur would be a cheaper option for the Catalans, but first he needs to go through the scrutiny of Xavi Hernández, who will have the final word.

According to the newspaper, Paulo Pitombeira, the 23-year-old player’s manager, is already aware of the interest of the Spanish team, which was offering a loan with a purchase obligation of 8 million euros (about R$ 50 million). Basel, however, should not accept a transfer in these terms, given that it is an absolute titleholder of the team.

This season, the athlete has 23 goals in 24 games for Basel, leader of the Swiss Championship.
