The 2006 Olympic champion in ice dancing Roman Kostomarov announced his desire to get out of the hospital as soon as possible. This became known to the source Sport24.

On March 4, it was reported that the Olympic champion was gradually coming out of a coma. Before that, it became known that Kostomarov had a microstroke, after which he was put into a drug-induced sleep for 72 hours.
Kostomarov was hospitalized on 10 January. He was diagnosed with left-sided pneumonia in combination with influenza B. According to Moskovsky Komsomolets, the skater was amputated with both feet, then the shins of both legs, the entire right hand, and several fingers of the left hand.
