State Duma deputy Zhurova: Kerzhakov’s decision to leave Russia came as a surprise
State Duma deputy Svetlana Zhurova called the decision of the former Russian national football team player Alexander Kerzhakov to leave the country amid the conflict in Ukraine unexpected. Her comment leads “Moscow Says”.
The deputy stressed that celebrities are primarily people who have “their own human reactions.” However, she admitted, Kerzhakov’s departure came as a surprise. “It seemed to me that he was quite pro-Russian. But, probably, some human instinct worked for him, ”said Zhurova.
Earlier, the athlete said that he left Russia last fall because of fear. “It became very difficult for me and my wife,” Kerzhakov shared, adding that we are not talking about escaping. According to him, he does not intend to disown his homeland.
