“Sport-Express”: Turkish “Trabzonspor” is considering Cherchesov for the post of head coach
It became known about the interest of the Turkish club “Trabzonspor” to the former coach of the Russian national football team Stanislav Cherchesov. It is reported by “Sport-Express”.
According to the publication, the team is considering Cherchesov’s candidacy for the post of head coach in the 2023/2024 season. It is noted that the specialist refused to comment on this information.
Trabzonspor plays in the Turkish Premier League and is the current champion of the country. The club is currently fifth in the league standings with 44 points from 26 matches.
At the moment, Cherchesov heads the Hungarian Ferencvaros. He signed with the team on December 20, 2021. Under his leadership, the club became the champion of Hungary, and also won the Hungarian Cup.
Since 2016, Cherchesov has been the head coach of the Russian national team. Together with him, the national team reached the quarterfinals of the home world championship. The coach left the post after the team’s unsuccessful performance at the European Championship in 2021.
