6.7 magnitude earthquake stops soccer match in Panama

This Tuesday, a soccer game Panamanian Championship was paralyzed after the tremors hit the San Cristóbal stadium in David, Panama. An earthquake measuring 6.7 on the Richter scale hit the south of the country this week.

While Atlético Chiriquí and Universitario players were on the pitch, the earthquake caused tremors and team members took cover in the middle of the field. The earthquake was felt 15 minutes into the second half.

The match had to be interrupted and only returned after 30 minutes. Despite the tremors and stoppage, the game ended in a 0-0 draw and no casualties or injuries were identified, nor damage to the stadium.
