Seven hockey players of the Youth Hockey League (MHL) club “Tolpar” passed a positive test for doping. It is reported by “Sport-Express”.
According to the source, we are talking about meldonium. The names of the players in whose samples the prohibited drug was found have not been specified.
“Tolpar” is the youth team of the Russian club “Salavat Yulaev” playing in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). This season, the Ufa team flew to the 1/4 finals of the playoffs of the Eastern Conference of the MHL.
Meldonium, widely used by Russian athletes, was included in the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) banned drugs list on January 1, 2016. At the beginning of the same year, a number of domestic athletes, including tennis player Maria Sharapova, received disqualifications after failed doping tests that showed the presence of this substance in the body.
