Killorn fined $5,000 for hitting Shesterkin with a stick in an NHL game
Canadian Tampa Bay Lightning forward Alex Killorn has been sentenced for hitting Russian New York Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin with a stick during a National Hockey League (NHL) game. This was reported on the page of the League Player Safety Department in Twitter.
The Canadian was ordered to pay the maximum possible fine of $5,000. On April 6, during the second period of the meeting in New York, Killorn rudely attacked Shesterkin, after which a massive brawl broke out on the ice.
The meeting ended with a score of 6:3 in favor of the Rangers. The Russian repelled 28 shots out of 31.
On September 5, 2022, the 26-year-old Shesterkin was ranked second in the ranking of the best goaltenders in the NHL. On the first line is the two-time winner of the Stanley Cup, the Russian goalkeeper “Tampa Bay Lightning” Andrey Vasilevsky. In fifth place was the Olympic champion in the Russian team Ilya Sorokin, who defends the gates of the New York Islanders.
