The Kremlin appreciated the requirement for Russian athletes to condemn the SVO

Putin’s aide Levitin called the requirement for Russian athletes to condemn the NWO as discrimination

Assistant to Russian President Vladimir Putin, First Vice President of the Russian Olympic Committee Igor Levitin appreciated the demand for Russian athletes to condemn the special military operation (SVO) in Ukraine. The words of the Kremlin representative are quoted by RIA Novosti.

“We will definitely not agree to the conditions if our athletes are required to sign a receipt about the SVO,” he said, calling it discrimination and a violation of human rights. Levitin added that the situation with World Athletics remains the most problematic, since athletes make up half of the team.

On March 28, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recommended that Belarusians and Russians who did not support the SVO be allowed to compete in a neutral status. At the same time, athletes from Russia and Belarus associated with the armed forces or security agencies of their countries are recommended to be suspended from participating in tournaments.

At the end of February 2022, most sports organizations suspended the national teams of Russia and Belarus on the recommendation of the IOC. In some disciplines, such as motorsport, cycling, tennis, boxing, MMA and chess, Russians play in a neutral status.
