The Russian national football team retained the 37th place in the updated FIFA ranking
The Russian national team has retained 37th place in the updated ranking of the International Football Federation (FIFA). It is available on the organization’s website.
The Russian team has 1495.53 points. At the end of March, the team led by Valery Karpin played two friendly matches, the points for which were taken into account in the rating. The Russians played a draw against the Iranian team (1:1), and also defeated the Iraqi team with a score of 2:0.
The new leader of the ranking was the Argentina national team, which won the 2022 World Cup. The French are in second place, the Brazilians close the top three.
On February 28, 2022, FIFA and the Union of European Football Associations excluded Russian teams and clubs from international tournaments. Domestic teams do not play in European competitions, and the Russian team was deprived of the opportunity to compete for reaching the finals of the 2022 World Cup.
