Santos signs partnership with Japanese club for athletes and cultural exchange

Santos signed a partnership with Oita Trinita, a Japanese football team, for cultural, athlete and information exchange between the two clubs.

The presidents Andres Rueda and Masakaze Ozawa, accompanied by the vice-presidents of the two clubs, José Carlos de Oliveira and Teppei Nishiyama, met this Tuesday afternoon to sign the terms of the agreement.

“Santos traditionally has a strong bond with Japan. We had Kazu as a player and it is a pleasure for Santos to be able to strengthen ties with Japanese football. I find it quite interesting for both sides. Both for Oita, who will have the opportunity to learn more, have experience with the players that we eventually send there, and for us and the athletes who will be part of this exchange”, said Rueda.

“We’re always looking to publicize, internationalize our brand. I’m sure it will be a very good partnership for both clubs”, completed the president of Peixe.

Representative of the Japanese team, Masakaze Ozawa thanked the receptivity of Alvinegro Praiano and projected the fruits of this international union.

“First of all, I would like to express my gratitude for partnering with Santos, a prestigious club with a long tradition. I look forward to the various initiatives that both clubs will undertake in human resource development, international exchange, information sharing, improving the value of clubs, among others. I hope that, from this, Oita Trinita and Santos will develop into good partners in the long term”, declared President Ozawa.

Throughout its history, Santos has had five players born in Japan in its squad.
