The game
The first half was dominated by the hosts. At 20 minutes, Antony crossed for Scott McTominay, who took it first, on the edge of the area. The ball went close to the goal, but went over the crossbar of the goal of David Raya, goalkeeper of Brentford. Three minutes later, the Brazilian striker dribbled past the defenders, invaded the area and shot wide.
At 27, Antony launched in the area, finding Sabitzer, who fixed it with a header for Rashford to catch it first and open the scoring for Manchester United.

In the second half, Brentford began to create their attacking moves, in search of a tie. At 3 minutes of the second stage, David De Gea took a short goal kick to Lisandro Martinez. The Argentine defender returned it to De Gea, who found himself under pressure and kicked past Ivan Toney. The striker almost left everything the same at Old Trafford, but the ball went wide.
At 21, Kevin Schade received in depth and invaded the area. He, however, took a while to kick, and saw De Gea muffle his finish. Despite their efforts, the visitors failed to score. In this way, the match ended with the triumph of United.
Also this Wednesday, in a late match for the seventh round of the Premier League, which took place at the Olympic Stadium in London, Newcastle thrashed West Ham by 5-1. Callum Wilson (twice), Brazilian Joelinton (twice) and Alexander Isak scored for the visitors, while Kurt Zouma scored for David Moyes’ men.
