Cablera will be the home of English soccer in the United States for 15 years, since the first time they bought the rights was in 2013.
The Premier League renewed its television rights agreement with the US network NBC Sports with a contract until 2028 and valued at 2,000 million pounds (2,595′251,000.00 dollars).
This agreement will allow the US channel to televise 380 matches per season of the English championship, as well as having the rights to broadcast in Spanish.
In total, thanks to this renewal, NBC will be the home of English soccer in America for 15 years, since the first time they bought the rights was in 2013.
This amount of money serves to defray the losses suffered by Premier League teams during the pandemic, at the same time that this week a new aid package was announced aimed at the teams of the lower divisions of the United Kingdom, from Third and down.
Premier League matches accumulate an average of 600,000 viewers, which is the maximum since the 2015-2016 season, an increase of 14% compared to the previous season.
Richard Masters, executive president of the Premier League, said that NBC Sports is “significantly increasing” the popularity of the league in the United States thanks to a “fantastic promotion and coverage”. (D)
