Osasuna knocks out Athletic Bilbao and will face Real Madrid or Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final

The first finalist of the Copa del Rey of Spain is defined. This Tuesday, Osasuna drew 1-1 with Athletic Bilbao, in San Mamés, in the Basque country, and advanced to the tournament decision by the aggregate score (2-1).

Osasuna’s classification came after a 1-0 victory in the first leg, the defeat by the same score in normal time on the return and the goal in overtime in this Wednesday’s game. Inãki Williams opened the scoring in the 33rd minute of the first half. After corner kick, Mikel Vesga deflected with a header and Williams stretched to push the ball into the net.

After the goal, the home team dominated the match and piled up lost opportunities. Athletic Bilbao finished more than 20 times and hit the target in eight attempts, while Osasuna only shot on goal once.

Despite the difference in performances, the match remained 1-0 and went into extra time thanks to a tie on aggregate. In the additional 30 minutes, midfielder Pablo Ibáñez scored Osasuna’s ranking goal after a kick from outside the area.

This Wednesday, Barcelona e Real Madrid decide the last spot in the Copa del Rey final. At Camp Nou, in Catalonia, rivals will fight “El Clásico” from 4 pm (Brasília time). The decision of the tournament is scheduled for the 6th of May.
