According to the publication, the 35-year-old player still has a chance to stay at PSG, but would have to accept a reduction in his salary which is currently 3.37 million euros per month – something around R$ 18.6 million – since the club intends to hire in the middle of the year and needs to reduce costs, meeting the requirements of the Fair Play FIFA Finance.
Messi has a contract with the French until June of this year, but his name has been fanned by clubs in Saudi Arabia and the MLS. Furthermore, Barcelona are interested in the return of the Argentine and even already have ongoing conversations with the player’s staff to make this possible.
Messi welcomes a return to Spain. So far, however, the only proposal the athlete has on the table is renewal with PSG.
