Deputy Minister of Sports Ksenia Mashkova could have been fired due to absenteeism. The circumstances of her dismissal were revealed by the Telegram channel Mash.
According to the source, in October this year, Mashkova went to the Eurasian Women’s Forum in St. Petersburg, but did not issue a business trip. The authorities regarded Mashkova’s actions as absenteeism and dismissed her from her post for a single gross violation of her duties.
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced the dismissal of Mashkova on November 18 in accordance with subparagraph “a” of paragraph 3 of part 1 of article 37 of the federal law “On the state civil service of the Russian Federation.” This law stipulates that a civil servant can be dismissed in case of truancy, that is, absence from the office without good reason for more than four hours in a row during the working day.
Mashkova has a law degree. She took up the post of Deputy Minister of Sports in 2020. In the same year, Oleg Matytsin became the head of the department.
