Graham Potter’s last match in charge of Chelsea was the Saturday’s loss to Aston Villa2-0 at Stamford Bridge. The English coach was hired on September 9 last year to replace Thomas Tuchel at the start of the season.
In a statement, Chelsea said that the coach “agreed to collaborate with the club to facilitate a smooth transition” and announced that Bruno Saltor will lead the team in the next commitments as an interim. The former Spanish player was part of Graham Potter’s coaching staff.
Under the command of the English coach, Chelsea won 12 of the 31 games played and reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League. To hire Graham Potter, the London club spent 25 million euros to get him out of Brighton and signed a five-year contract.
Chelsea return to the field next Saturday for the Premier League to face Wolverhampton, at 11 am (Brasília time), at Molineux Stadium.
