The incident occurred at the Burevestnik stadium, where university teams from the Russian University of Sports, the Russian Technological University MIREA and the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) performed. At first, two teams participated in the brawl, but then another one joined it, playing on the adjacent field.
As a result of the fight, in which one of the players broke his nose, 16 players were taken to the police station. Three athletes were issued an administrative protocol for petty hooliganism.
On December 17, the Australian Championship match between Melbourne City and Melbourne Victory was interrupted due to a mass brawl between fans and players. The referee suspended the match. She was never finished.
