Sportskeeda: Barcelona offered Messi a salary of seven million euros per season
The conditions that are offered to the Argentine striker Paris Saint-Germain Lionel Messi in the Catalan Barcelona have become known. Sportskeeda reports.
According to the publication, the club wants to conclude a contract with the striker for a year with the option of extending for one season. The salary, in accordance with the agreement, will be 6-7 million euros per year. According to El Chiringuito TV correspondent José Alvarez, Barcelona are confident that the Argentine will return to the club after the expiration of the contract with PSG.
On March 29, journalist Gerard Romero reported that Messi was ready to take a significant pay cut in order to return to Barcelona. It was clarified that Messi is not going to renew the contract with PSG and is actively negotiating with the Spanish team.
Messi signed an agreement with PSG in August 2021. Prior to that, he spent his entire career playing for Barcelona, in which he won the Spanish championship ten times and won the Champions League four times. The striker’s current contract with the French club runs until June 2023 with the option of a one-season extension.
