The visitors try to maintain the good moment in La Liga. A victory will make Barcelona open 15 points from Real Madrid on the leaderboard.
Coach Xavi Hernández’s charges want to show that Barcelona are on the right track to return to the top of European football, after three years without winning the national championship.
On the other hand, Elche is at the bottom of the championship with just 13 points, half of the penultimate placed. The hosts are in a difficult situation and need a victory to start dreaming of escaping relegation.
Already on Sunday, Real Madrid seeks recovery. The meringues receive Valladolid, at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, in Madrid.
