Richarlison denies rumors that Conte resigned: “I wasn’t a riot leader”

This Thursday, the Argentine newspaper tyc sports stated that Brazilian striker Richarlison and Argentine defender Cristian Romero had put pressure on the board of directors Tottenham for the dismissal of coach Antonio Conte, who left office last Sunday.

The 25-year-old Brazilian, however, released a note on his social networks denying the information disclosed by the Argentines.

“Questioning and criticizing a player for his performance is part of football and I understand it. However, making up lies about myself, I do not accept it! I have always had the utmost respect for Conte and for all my coaches. He has helped a lot in my coming to the Spurs and, whenever we had a problem, even if it was public, we solved it through conversation and professionalism – he can confirm it” began Richarlison.

“I wasn’t the leader of a mutiny against him, on the contrary. I’m sorry I didn’t perform as much as he expected of me and I didn’t do enough for him to stay. When he left, I even sent him a message thanking him and wishing him success, because it’s That’s what he deserves,” he continued.

The player, who has already passed through Watford and Everton before reaching the Spurshe concluded by criticizing the journalist who released the information.

“The journalist responsible for this absurd lie did not even do his basic duty of seeking my advice or listening to me. Terrible professional and terrible character! A shame, Tyc Sports”, he concluded.

Richarlison arrived at Tottenham in July last year, hoping to score goals. However, in practice this was not the case. The player has 27 games for the London team, with two goals – both in a single Champions League match – and 4 assists.

After the elimination to Milan, in the Champions League, Richarlison even complained about the lack of opportunities with the Italian coach.

“There’s no fool here, I’m a professional. I work every day and I want to play. I’m missing a minute, I’m missing time. This season is a shit…, because I don’t have minutes. I also suffered a little injury, but when I enter the field I give my life. I came from two games well, mainly against Chelsea, in which I played the 90 minutes and we won the match. I think I should have played”, vented, in an interview with TNT Sports.

With the lack of title prospects for the season, the Spurs live in a football crisis. Mathematically, there is still the possibility of winning the Premier League, but the distance of 20 points for the leader Arsenal makes the feat unlikely.

Outside the four lines, it’s not much different. The team saw its sporting director, Fabio Paratici, being suspended for 30 monthsafter being condemned by FIFA in an accounting scandal that occurred when he was working at Juventus.
