Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov spoke about the upcoming match against compatriot Daniil Medvedev at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Miami (USA). His words are quoted on the website of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP).
“We grew up together and every time I play against Daniil or Andrey [Рублева], it’s not easy, because we are good friends. But on the court we are rivals, ”said the tennis player. Khachanov noted that Medvedev has already beaten him, so he will try to approach the next match differently.
The semi-final match of the tournament between the Russians will be held on March 31. In the matches of the 1/4 finals, Khachanov was stronger than the Argentine Francisco Cerundolo with a score of 6:3, 6:2, and Medvedev beat the American Christopher Eubanks (6:3, 7:5).
Medvedev ranks fifth in the ATP rankings and is the first racket of Russia. Khachanov is on the 16th line of the ATP list.
