The head of the RFU, Alexander Dyukov, said he sees no reason to cancel Fan ID
The head of the Russian Football Union (RFU), Alexander Dyukov, answered a question about the possible cancellation of Fan ID. His words leads “Championship”.
Dyukov said he sees no reason to cancel fan passports. “People need to come to football. People’s safety is a priority. It must be provided. The government weighed everything and made a decision,” he explained.
On March 27, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to simplify the use of Fan ID. It was clarified that appropriate measures should be taken primarily in relation to the disabled, pensioners and children. The deadline for completing the task is May 1, 2023.
The State Duma adopted the law on Fan ID in December 2021. To enter the stands for matches of the Russian Premier League (RPL), each fan must have a personalized spectator card, which was previously impossible to issue remotely. In response to this decision, active fans of the RPL clubs, except for the Grozny Akhmat, announced a boycott of league matches.
