Olympic champion Anfisa Reztsova was hospitalized after a heart attack
Three-time Olympic champion Anfisa Reztsova said she was hospitalized after suffering a heart attack. Her words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
The athlete said that she suddenly fainted at home. An examination revealed she had a heart attack. “I’m all on drips. They have been treating me for a week already, they ride me on a trolley. But I’m not old yet, my whole life is ahead, ”said Reztsova.
In February, Reztsova appreciated the idea of the Minister of Sports and Tourism of Poland, Kamil Bortnichuk, to create a refugee team of Russian athletes to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. She called for Poland to be punished for such an idea.
At the 1988 Games, Reztsova competed in cross-country skiing and won a gold medal in the relay race, as well as silver in the 20 km individual race. She won two more Olympic golds in biathlon: in the sprint in 1992 and the relay in 1994.
