Traumatologist Maxim Korolev assessed the possibility of using prostheses by figure skater Roman Kostomarov, who underwent amputations. His words are quoted by NEWS.ru.
The doctor said that Kostomarov will be able to walk with bionic prosthetic feet. He added that one of his patients plays hockey with such a prosthetic leg.
Earlier it became known that doctors managed to stop the spread of necrosis in Kostomarov’s body, cerebral circulation also returned to normal. RT reported that the athlete was being prepared for prosthetics.
Kostomarov was hospitalized on 10 January. He was diagnosed with left-sided pneumonia in combination with influenza B. According to Moskovsky Komsomolets, the skater was amputated with both feet, then the shins of both legs and the entire right hand, as well as several fingers of the left hand.
