Chile has goalkeeper error from Paraguay and wins friendly with goal at the end

On the night of this Monday, Chile beat Paraguay by 3 to 2, Estadio Monumental, in Santiago, Chile. The goals of the friendly were scored by Paulo Díaz, Sánchez and Antony Silva (own goal) for the home team, while Rojas and Ávalos scored for the Paraguayans.

This was the teams’ first commitment in 2023. Both missed out on the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Chile opened the scoring at 25 minutes of play, with Díaz. The Paraguayans, in turn, sought equality soon after. At 32, Rojas rocked the net to leave everything the same. Two minutes later, Ávalos put Paraguay ahead, turning the score around.

At 30 minutes of the second half, Alexis Sánchez scored the second for the Chileans, equaling the score, again. He had leftovers in the area, after Paraguay’s defense barely cleared it, and sent it to the goal. Six minutes later, the scorer of Chile’s first goal, Paulo Díaz, ended up expelled, as well as Sosa, who had just entered.

In addition, Chile was again ahead on the scoreboard. After a corner kick by Sánchez in the area, goalkeeper Antony Silva tried to move away, but missed the time, the ball hit him and went to the back of the net.
