After starting in the Qualifiers for the Euro 2024 with a defeat to England, Italy recovered in the competition. This Sunday, the Italian team defeated Malta by 2-0, away from home, for the second round of Group C.
Coach Roberto Mancini’s team settled the game in the first half, with goals from Mateo Retegui and Matteo Pessina. In the final stage, the team just controlled the advantage.
With the result, Italy rose to second place in the bracket, with three points, three less than England, which leads. Malta is already in the flashlight, with zero.

Simultaneously, Portugal trampled over Luxembourg. Even playing away from home, the Portuguese team won by 6-0, for the second round of Group J.
Cristiano Ronaldo twice, João Felix and Bernardo Silva scored in the first half. In the final stage, Otavio and Rafael Lesão completed the rout.
With the triumph, Portugal is in the lead of the group, with six points, two more than Slovakia, which appears in second. Luxembourg, in turn, is fifth, with one.
