This Thursday, the Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport released details of the lawsuit filed by Paulo Dybala, from Roma, against his former club, Juventus. The Argentine can claim damages for around 54 million euros not received.
Juventus has been the target of several legal disputes in recent months. In January, the club was punished by the Italian Football Federation for tax fraud and ended up losing 15 points in the A league. One of the parties involved in the financial maneuvers practiced by the board of directors of Velha Senhora was striker Paulo Dybala.
At Juve since 2015, Dybala would have a renewal agreement with the club until 2025, which did not materialize. Due to unfavorable financial conditions and distrust of the player’s technical return, Juventus decided not to renew. At the end of the contract, the Argentine transferred to Roma.
According to Dybala’s lawyer, Luca Ferrari, failure to comply with the alleged renewal agreement cost the player more than 49 million euros.
“Juventus failed in an agreement that was already conclusively negotiated, the signing was just a formality,” said Ferrari, who does not rule out a lawsuit against the Old Lady for a millionaire compensation payment.
Currently, Juventus is seventh in the Italian Championship with 41 points, while Roma occupies fifth place, with 47 points added. In 29 appearances this season, Dybala has already scored 13 goals and provided eight assists for the Italian capital’s team.
