Usyk’s promoter explained the breakdown of the fight with Fury by the fact that the Briton was trying to avoid the fight
Oleksandr Krasyuk, the promoter of boxer Oleksandr Usyk, called the reasons for the failure of the fight between the Ukrainian and Briton Tyson Fury. His words are quoted by talkSport.
“The fight is canceled and the reason is that it has all gone too far. There was a feeling that after Usyk took [разделение гонорара] 70/30, Fury began to think that he could saddle Usyk and ride him as much as he could, ”explained Krasyuk. According to the representative of the Ukrainian team, the Briton tried to avoid the fight and therefore put obstacles to the deal.
On March 22, Usyk’s manager Egis Klimas announced the cancellation of the duel between the Ukrainian and the Briton, which was supposed to take place on April 29 and was negotiated since the fall of 2022. “No matter how much Usyk compromised, he was still put forward new demands,” he stressed.
Fury has 33 wins, one draw and no losses. He owns the World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight championship belt.
Usyk has 20 wins in 20 fights. He holds the World Boxing Organization (WBO), International Boxing Federation (IBF), International Boxing Organization (IBO) and WBA Super heavyweight championship belts.
