The Russians will perform in the Games of the Bolivarian Alliance in 2023 with the flag and anthem
Russian athletes will perform at the 2023 Bolivarian Alliance Games with the national flag and anthem. It is reported by TASS with reference to the Ministry of Sports.
The Russian delegation will include 48 athletes. They will compete in boxing, beach volleyball, karate, table tennis, trampolining, weightlifting and rhythmic gymnastics.
The invitation to Russians to take part in the International Games in Latin America became known on February 23. Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin said that the proposal to visit the international tournament was made by the Minister of People’s Power for Youth and Sports of Venezuela, Mervin Maldonado, as part of a working meeting.
The Games of the countries of the Bolivarian Alliance will be held from 21 to 29 April. They include competitions in 35 sports. About 3.5 thousand athletes from 11 countries should take part in the tournament. The competition will be held for the first time in an open format with the invitation of the Russian team.
