Nettavisen: Bristol City will terminate the contract with Russian goalkeeper Nikita Khaikin
English club Bristol City have terminated the contract with Russian footballer Nikita Khaikin. It is reported by Nettavisen.
According to the publication, the agreement, calculated until the end of the 2022/2023 season, will be terminated so that the Russian in the status of a free agent can return to the Norwegian Bodé-Glimt. It is specified that the Norwegians could not find a worthy replacement for the goalkeeper.
Khaikin joined Bristol on 25 January. Prior to that, he played for Boude-Glimt for three years. The 27-year-old goalkeeper is also known for playing in Israel for Bnei Yehuda and Hapoel Kfar Sava.
Khaikin played for the youth teams of Russia of different ages, as well as for the youth team. Valery Karpin called the goalkeeper to the national team of the country, but he has not yet made his debut for it. In addition to Russian, the athlete has British and Israeli citizenship.
Bristol City play in the Championship – the second most important English division. After 28 rounds, the team is in 17th place in the standings.
