The president of Rome’s Jewish community, Ruth Dureghello, released on Twitter on Monday several videos of Lazio fans chanting anti-Semitic chants directed at Roma rivals. She also showed a photo of a fan wearing a shirt with the name “Hitlerson” and the number 88, used in the neo-Nazi movement as “Heil Hitler”.
“We try to avoid, isolate and combat these phenomena. We will continue to do so without hesitation, to defend in Italy and abroad the image of the club, which never had anything to do with this”, underscores the statement.
Lazio also claims that it acts to “identify those responsible” and “prohibit them from accessing the stadium”.
