Karpin called the return to tournaments a condition for calling Dziuba to the Russian national team
The head coach of the Russian national team Valery Karpin called the condition for the return of the Lokomotiv striker Artem Dzyuba to the national team. His words are quoted by TASS.
“If we are returned to international competitions, then any player has a chance to get into the national team,” the specialist said. He stressed that until then, players over 30 years old will not be called up to the national team.
Earlier, 34-year-old Dziuba admitted that he was very calm about not being included in the Russian team.
On February 28, 2022, the International Football Federation and the Union of European Football Associations excluded Russian teams and clubs from international tournaments. Domestic clubs do not play in European competitions, and the Russian team was deprived of the opportunity to compete for reaching the finals of the 2022 World Cup.
