Coach Jorge Sampaoli is no more coach than Sevilla. The club announced, this Tuesday morning, that it terminated the contract with the Argentine after the defeat to Getafe, last weekend.
Sampaoli leaves the team after 31 games, with 13 wins, six draws and 12 defeats. The team is in 14th place in the Spanish Championship with 28 points, two less than Valencia, first in the relegation zone.
Sampaoli’s departure was discussed since the defeat of Sevilla. For the club’s locker room, the coach had been doing a bad job, with a game system that makes the team imprecise and easy to defeat.
Since the Argentine arrived to take charge, the team has never taken off. To replace it, according to the newspaper BrandJosé Bordalás emerges as one of the main candidates.
Marcelino García is also a commented name, but his hiring is treated as “almost impossible” by the vehicle, while José Luis Mendilibar is “in the minds of the leaders”.
