Saudi Arabian sports minister says Cristiano Ronaldo’s influence on the championship’s appeal

Saudi Sports Minister Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal praised the effect of Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Al-Nasr. Sportskeeda reports.

According to the functionary, the national championship is now shown on 137 channels around the world. “We wanted it from the beginning, but they said they weren’t interested. But after one player came, the broadcasts go all over the world,” the minister said.

Al-Faisal stressed that Ronaldo has increased the attractiveness of the league. In total, the Portuguese made nine appearances in all competitions for Al-Nasr. In them, he hit the opponent’s goal eight times and gave two assists.

Ronaldo moved to Al Nasr on December 30, 2022. The Portuguese contract is for two years. The salary of a football player at the club, including bonuses, is 200 million euros per year. This makes the striker the highest paid athlete in the world.
