UFC chief Dana White slams fight talks between Fury and Usyk

The head of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Dana White praised the upcoming fight between British boxer Tyson Fury and Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk. His words are available on the JOE YouTube channel.

White criticized the long negotiations between the teams of athletes, while noting that this is a familiar situation for boxing. “This is boxing, this is how it works. The big fights that should take place either don’t happen or happen very late, ”he said and added that as a fan it drives him crazy.

On March 19, the World Boxing Association (WBA) ordered the athletes to come to an agreement by April 1. According to journalist Mike Coppinger, the fight should take place on April 29 in Saudi Arabia.

Negotiations about the duel between Usyk and Fury have been going on since the fall of 2022. The promoter of the Ukrainian Oleksandr Krasyuk noted that they are being dragged out due to disagreements on remuneration.

Fury has 33 wins, one draw and no losses. He owns the World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight championship belt.

Usyk has 20 wins in 20 fights. He holds the World Boxing Organization (WBO), International Boxing Federation (IBF), International Boxing Organization (IBO) and WBA Super heavyweight championship belts.
