The goals of the game
Arsenal opened the scoring in the 28th minute of the first half. Saka received it on the right of the penalty area and crossed for Gabriel Martinelli. The Brazilian dominated very calmly, took it from the defender and released a bomb that exploded in the back of Crystal Palace’s nets.
The hosts continued to dominate the game until, in the 42nd minute, they extended their advantage on the scoreboard, once again in a play by Saka on the right. The English striker positioned himself very well between the defenders and was found by Ben White. In front of the goal, the number 7 touched low in the left corner, with no chance for the opposing goalkeeper.
The 3-0 came out 9 minutes into the second half. Odegaard sent in a beautiful low pass that put Xhaka in front of goal. The Swiss touched between the goalkeeper’s legs to score. At 17, Crystal Palace cashed out. In a corner kick, Arsenal’s defense was unable to clear the ball and it was alive in the small area. Jeffrey Schlupp was attentive and pushed for the goal.
Saka closed the account with a beautiful goal. At 29 minutes, Gabriel Jesus made a good move at the entrance to the area and tried to play to the left, but the pass was cut. Even so, the defense failed to get away with quality. Kieran Tierney played low to Saka, who, at first, landed a hard finish to the left corner.
