Lens defeated Angers this Saturday afternoon, by 3-0, at home, in a match valid for the 28th round of the French Championship. The team thus reduced the distance to the Paris Saint Germain (PSG) at the top of the competition table.
The advantage of the Parisian team is still great, but now it is nine points. PSG can still regain the 12 points away at the top if they defeat Rennes, at 13:05 (BrasΓlia time) this Sunday.
In turn, Lens overtakes Olympique de Marseille and reaches second place in the tournament, consolidating itself more and more as one of the sensations and applicants for a place in the next edition of the Champions League.
Angers, on the other hand, is sinking deeper and deeper into the bottom of Ligue 1. The team has just 10 points gained and, in 28 matches, has won only twice.
